OK, you guys can argue all you want, as far as disputing the ticket, in court it comes down to one question whose answer MUST be either a resounding "Yes" or "No" . and the question is, Were you driving over the posted speed limit ?

Hey Defro, all I hear from you is "fight, fight, fight, fight" and "fight the machine." Are you living in the same world as the rest of us. I'm going to have to side with MR2NR. If you speed and drive like a ^#^%@ idiot then you deserve a ticket. How many times has someone lost a life or became seriously injured or disabled just because people are driving like they are the only one on the road?

I've had one ticket for speeding given to me and I totally deserved it. I think, for the most part, cops do not target individuals to give them tickets (the people that believe they are being targetted are probably consistently driving like idiots and deserve to be targetted), they pull people over because they see them driving unsafely. Think of it for a second: if someone cuts you off and takes off like a maniac would you not wish a cop would pull them over and give them a ticket? (honestly)

p.s.>the world is not against you so what "machine" are you referring too? It seems like you are taking that from something you read or someone you know. Original material is so much better.

This unfortunately does not work, tried it a few years back and they will just send your cheque back to you and ask for the correct amount.

I know a few people on this thread have suffered significant losses in their lives from the results of reckless driving. These people are justified in being upset...

Then there are those that refuse to take responsability for their own actions.

I am probably one of the few people on this forum that has seen over 250 in a car on public roads. Take it from me, it's stupid to speed. For those that I have left worrying at home everytime I "went for a drive", I am truly sorry.

I've had plenty of close calls, plenty of wreckless events, and plenty of people wishing a cop was there to take my plate down. I don't think there is anything more "real" then when you lose somebody close to you in an accident.

I have heard so many people blame their car for accidents that it makes me sick. Heck...I've even been one of them. People cause accidents with reckless actions, cars are just there following your directions.

I would say the single greatest cause of accidents is people not driving for the conditions. Sometimes the speed limit is way too fast.

Take responsability.

Seems that no amount of tickets or points has caused the problem to hit home yet. A suspension and loss of your freedom or job that comes with it might be in your best interest, and I know what I am talking about there...

No harm done, we can **** off each other as much as we want but in the end it is a difference of opinion that is all. [/QB]
Rob, for the sake of argument I think he just has different "morals" and "values" than people who obey the law; by you saying that it's a difference of opinion is giving him the benefit of the doubt (which you clearly havn't been doing).

Clubconcepts, going over the speedlimit even 1-5 mph is breaking the law! And yes people have been ticketed for doing so, but the law is the law and everyone must abide by it.

The only word that can describe your driving record is irresponsibility. You are 25 years old and it's probably a good time you start being accountable for your actions instead of spending all of your time trying to find ways out of punishment you deserve.

Okay... all of us who have not violated the speed limit raise your hand...

Speeding is wrong, dangerous and harms more than the driver -- if you need proof, watch the news.

In someways this post reminds me of George Bush a man who is an admitted ex-coke user who warps himself is his born again christianity and has little patience with "criminals". I wonder what would have happened to him if police found him with coke in his car and he was black?

Likewise, if the police were able to catch everyone for every violation I doubt that many of us would still be on the road.

Yes, I am older, wiser and more experianced now than I was in my 20's and as a parent I would like to see safer roads and highways when my eldest daugther takes to the roads next year; however, I feel that while his speeding is wrong, preaching to Shawn is a little like "the pot calling the kettle black".
