Latest Threads
The "Latest Threads" would be more efficient if it showed the last poster, as opposed to the original poster of the thread. This avoids users clicking on the same thread time and time again when the content has not changed. If you can see the last poster, then you know things have been updated.

Where are you seeing this?
Are you talking about the Last Post column in the thread list? My view shows the last poster that made the last post.
OR are you talking about using the New Posts tab? There again I get a thread list and the Last Post column shows the name of the last poster last poster.
The OP will always show under the thread title.
Also, if a thread has a new post since your last visit, it will be prefaced with a small black box with a grey down facing triangle in it.
These views are pretty much what I see on all the boards I visit.

I've marked what's correct and what isn't, it's actually working against what we already have going on the board (just noticed this as well).
So basically as you've described, last posts are indicated, as I've checked off in the first post, where I'm the OP and you have replied, showing you as the last post.
Below it, is a note to a thread where a new post was made with a down arrow as you've indicated, which is correct as well.
But to the right, the "Latest Threads" is a list of threads with the most recent action but at this point in time, is showing the OP ONLY.
Should this not show the last poster instead?
Edit: Ok I notice that all of the threads listed had the original posters as the last posters as well, so my example couldn't be shown. I just bumped a thread not made by me, "2 SA 12s Under Powered and still doing work" yet it shows the OP as pretty much the last poster (if we go by everything else on the site).

Ok - thanks. Yeah I used to use that listing also to see if anyone responded to something I posted during the same session on here. It changed a couple of months back and since I have just stopped using it.
I generally don't have any control of the actual set-up of the site but I'll poke around the dashboard and see if I can find something related to this.

I still hate that the thread titles come up with the OP as "Latest Threads" instead of the person who posted in it last ...
And then on top of it, you can't edit the title either ...
"DaVibe - Alpine M1000 - $200"
Noooo, I don't want $200 anymore! Frozen, can't change it.
