I want to use the following amp with a jl w7 12:

Alpine mrp-m850 or mrp-m1000

Or

Should I just spend the money on the jl 1000/1

The only reason I ask is because I dont want the conflicting impedence to affect the performance of the combo. With the jl I know it wont as it puts out at 3 ohms. Not 2 or 4 like the alpine amps.

Or should I even be worried?

I want to run the m850 at 2 ohms @ 800 rms

Or if I opt to go with the m1000 then I will run it at 600rms at 4 ohms.

Which one should I go with or just get the matching jl amp at 3 ohms which is more money but could be worth it.

Opinions please. Thx for your time.

Well, form what you wrote, I would get the JL slash amp. But beware that it is a regulated amp, and not sure if your front amp is regulated. Depending on the power you're running all together, and having possible voltage drops, the unregulated front amp may lag a bit at idle, or with engine off. Not a huge problem, but something to consider.

Im thinking of just getting the jl amp, there are a ton on ebay right now and it should be easy enough to snag one for about 4 bills. I was going to buy a heavy duty battery for the car aswell. Just to make things on the up and up so very little can go wrong.

Anybody know of any good sites that sell these things for a good price?
