Help! matching amp to speakers/ Subs

Ok so im new to putting together my own system so i want to make sure i found the right amp for what i need. the amp is

5ch. powerbass amp

RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 75 watts x 4 chan. + 250 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 150 watts x 4 chan. + 500 watts x 1 chan.
4 ohm Mono: 300 watts x 2 chan. + 500 watts x 1 chan.
Max power output: 2200 watts

My speakers are

Power Handling:

4 x 70 watts (RMS)4ohm each

and the subs are 2 12" Dual 4 ohm PowerBass S-124DX

Power Handling:
Peak: 600 watts
RMS: 300 watts

i know you should always over power your speakers rather then under powering them but Would this amp work for what im hooking up to it? if So would i wire 4 speakers to there own channels 1,2,3,4 and the Subs would be wired in the 5th channel? Im Going off this Diagram for wiring the subs.

The speakers and amplifier match just fine, the subs do not.

Your woofers are dual 4 ohm. So each sub can either be wired in parallel (2 ohms each) or series (8 ohms each). And then the pair in parallel will total either 1 or 4 ohms.

According to your specs, your amp produces the most power at 2 ohms on the sub channel. It is not 1 ohm stable, so you have no choice but to run it at 4 if you want to use both subs together.

Your amplifiers output power at 4 ohms on the mono channel - 250w RMS. Each sub will be getting 125w out of 300. Not a very good match in my opinion.

So another question i have is could i buy 2 4 Channel amps and power the speakers with one 4 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan. then Bridged, 4 ohms: 400 watts x 2 chan. to power the subs?

No your woofers are dual 4 ohm. So ultimately each woofer (when you wire both voice coils in parallel) is 2 ohms. Therefore you end up with either 1 or 4 ohms for the pair of subwoofers, mono.

So you need either a powerful 2 channel amp that you can bridge to a single 4 ohm mono channel, or a monoblock amplifier that's 1 ohm stable, to run those subs.

dont buy powerbass garbage...

whats your budget for a 4 channel and a mono amp
I'd suggest going with a mono for the subs and 4 channel for the speakers.
something like an audison sr4 for the speakers and audison sr1d for the subs ( 600+rms @ 1ohm )

Would you consider dropping down to one sub? A single sub, wired for a 2ohm load, would get you that 500W the amp is rated for. If you're careful, you'd have plenty of power for the woofer, and the amp could be set to a nice efficient level. If you use both subs, and wire for 4ohms, you may be tempted to dial the amp settings up for more output, and decrease the longevity of that piece of equipment.

Agreed; either only 1 sub, or a new, dedicated mono amp which is one ohm capable. There are lots of options, and don't be put off by Johnny's comments; not everyone can afford Audison. There are lots of affordable mono amps out there making 600+ watts rms. You may want to consider an amp which makes that much at 4, or 2 ohms so the amp isn't working as hard; your electrical system will thank you. Hope you have your big 3 done already, and good luck!
