Hey! I need some help!

Hey everyone,
I need your help...I just recently got a jbl 600.1 amp and I'm trying to hook it up to a 10" rockford fosgate power series sub....I need some help with how exactly to wire it properly! If anyone knows please let me know!
Thanks,
Jamie

Did you buy the dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm?

Hey!
Actually I just checked and it's a rockford fosgate punch 10" but I'm not sure if its the 4 ohm or 8 ohm....I didn't buy it brand new so I dunno...whats the difference in wiring?
Thanks,
Jamie

OK, if you don't know the model you'll have to measure the resistance of each voice coil with a multimeter.

Hey,
well, someone said that I'll have to hook it up in mono because I only have one sub....how do I hook that sub up to that amp in mono?
Thanks,
Jamie

I tried hooking it up and it was working but only a very little bit, then it stopped. I went and looked at the amp and the light on it was green but there was nothing from the sub....I looked at the owners manual and it said that the diagnoses for a green light but no sub is that the amp is overheated...but it was only on for maybe 15 seconds....Anyways I think I have it wired up wrong....so I disconnected everything and now I'm waiting for some advice!
Thanks,
Jamie

Is your amp the BP 600.1? Are your subs P1's, P2's or P3's?

Thats a fair chunk of power for just a P1. That amp has 2 sets of outputs for easier wiring of multiple woofers. Did you wire the sub to one channel or did you bridge it across both?
