Upgrade to 13w7? Or downgrade?

My long post was lost so here's the short version. Currently have two mtx 8512-44 in matching mtx ported box and 1501d amp. If I swap them for a single 13w7 I expect to gain some quality but will I lose much spl?

This isn't a post asking which is better. I know it will be better in quality, but I don't want to lose the level of bass I can currently obtain on days I'm mad at my ears. I can't handle any more SPL while in the car and if I let it push high levels while outside of the car, it will literally vibrate the car into pieces and turn it into a rattle box earache. Even it you manage the level, it blurs your vision to the point you can't drive. So will a single 13w7 be at the level?

Have you been in an SUV with a pair of proper fitted and powered mtx 8500 12" super woofers?not exsggerating, I physically cannot handle these at full power inside the car. Driving isn't even possible, each bass hit blurs your vision too much. They are smooth sounding and keep up with the fast double kick drum of slayer and the rest. But I'm getting older so the SPL doesn't matter as much anymore. I want more quality without losing volume. I'm having a very hard time seeing my current amp powering just 1 sub and smoking the 2 ithe currently powers

I'v heard them... built enclosures for a lot of them too
MTX subs are OK.... the term super woofer is just a selling gimmick...
the two JBL W12gti's I have right now can blurr my vision easily and they are
one of the best SQ woofers ever made for 12volt audio

my ground pounder had four 15" SSA Xcons on a Crown amp...
that thing blurred vision completely to the point you would feel sick and disorientated

the JL 13W7 is a very decent woofer...
it will make those MTX sound like crap on every level and they have very good output

I'd take the 13W7 over those super woofers any day

out put is one thing ... but output of the right stuff is another
