Port Placement.

Alright, I got my box plans and measurements all done. I bought two feet of 3" pvc pipe and I will purchase my mdf as soon as I get my hands on a pickup. I am going with a 17" port and a 1.25 cu feet box for a 28 hz tune. BUT the only thing left that I am unsure about is whether the location of the port makes a difference or not??? Will it affect anything if I just put the port in a random location ?

If it does matter this is where I am planning on putting it: Pretend I have a picture of the box and the sub is facing you. The port will be on the right side of the box and reach over the magnet of the sub.

Thanks a bunch guys .

SPL, I always see subs facing up wards and ports towards the back. in an SUV.

the "best" is to have to port on the same plane as the sub. I havent noticed any different.
