Ported enclosure two type R 12's

I just bought a system from a friend and got a really good deal on it.
But it didn't include a box, what I bought is two Alpine Type R 12's that are 4 ohm 12s, the amp is a Rockford Fosgate t-10001bd.
I bought a stinger 0 gauge amp wiring kit that has oxygen free copper wire.
ive been looking at some boxes and trying to decide if I want to buy or build a box, these are the older style of type r 12s that are 500 watt rms and 1500 watt max, the box I'm considering getting is a ported enclosure that has 1.86 cubic feet per 12 and its tuned at 36hz and is made of 3/4 mdf.
Will this box sound pretty good?
I'm thinking it should work pretty good considering alpine recommends 1.7 cubic feet per 12 for a ported box with these older type r's that are 500 watts rms.
Each 12 has its own separate port and the ports come out in the middle of the box. The port style is called a labyrinth port design.
I'm not looking to win stereo competitions with this set up and not looking to hit a certain db, just wanting a decent system to enjoy some music in our car.
So I just wanted to ask if this box will sound pretty good with these 12s.
