i have seen discussion on single vs dual chamber many ties, but I have yet to see a discussion on the topic if the box is somewhat small for the drivers. I have read different theories, but this situation is somewhat different.

So here's my predicament. I have a chevy avalanche. Avy owners will tell you that there's quite the shortage of space in the vehicle. So i have a speaker enclosure that fits under the rear seat. Making a bigger box is NOT an option due to the limited space in the vehicle. The subs sound pretty tight and I have them amped pretty well but the bottom end is a little bit lacking and I would like to extend that a little bit lower.

The enclosure:
contains .48 CU FT per subwoofer .96 CU FT total.
2 chamber sealed box
.45 lbs of polyfill in each chamber

Subwoofers:
2 - 10" 4 OHM SVC 1/chamber
400W RMS 800W max - Wired 2 ohm total with 600W RMS.
Minimum box size .8 CU FT per sub up to 3 Cu Ft.

Question:
1.) If I took out the division in the enclosure would I be able to get a lower frequency since there is more room for the sound to resonate?
2.) Would both subs actually utilize the .96 Cu ft of space or still just the .48 since there are two subs using the same volume?
3.) If I blew a sub, besides impedence concerns on the amp, would it adversely impact the other since the total volume would still be within the guidelines of the individual sub?
4.) Would it be better to completely remove the divider or drill multiple ports between the chambers.
5.) Would this mod be beneficial or negative in my situation?

those small sealed under the seat subs sound like a clock radio at best

if it was me I would get some brackets welded up and raise the rear seat a couple inches and make room for a real sub set up...
I could put a single ported sub under that seat that would sound really good
with excellent low end
