18inch subwoofer

Is there such a thing as an 18inch sub that will work in a small box? Lets say around 2 c/f ?

Of course I am posting for some suggestions.

I should add that this isnt for an SPL competition, just for my daily driving needs but aiming for SQ.

Thanks.

2cf box is a tad bit too small for most 18s isnt it? (except for that ed thing)

What are the other size speakers in the system, if you are dropping down to a 6.5" speaker as the next largest, your SQ is going to be less than stellar.

That ED seems like just the ticket.

The reason why is simple, I have a thing for large speakers. Although I might not go that route, I thought I had convinced the spouse and all, I might still need to do some work on her. I think 18's are very cool to

As for my midbase, I have some 10inchers, they are plenty big. I am using the canton set that cme with a 5 1\4inch midrange and a pair of 10inch midbase.

The spouse seems to prefer me gettig a pair of 8's (I am looking at those splinter 8's) but I want to see if I couldnt find a 18 to do the trick instead.

I know its a long shot but hardwrkr found one that seems like it would work well for what I am looking for.

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

The classic Kicker C18 works in a surprisingly small sealed box. I'd give it closer to 3cuft than 2 though if you can.

Well for now it seems like the spouse has done a 180 or come to her senses and said I can only get a pair of 8's for the back, or shallow mount 10's for under the front seats.

I am really liking the rli-8, they seem pretty intense for their price.

And also thanks to hardwrkr i found the really cheeply priced ED SQ10 that fits in a really small enclosure to for dirt cheep, 55$. I could maybe use 3 of those as oposed to 2 of the rli's.

Apparently ED has a bad rep? I dont know why though, anyone have an opinion on the subject?

I have to add I am dissapointed that I cant go with the 18, I have this thing about getting a subwoofer a size smaller them my mids.

They do look pretty awesome:

ED sq 10

Defenitly not as cool as this would have been.

wow, that RLI-8 looks intense. I have to suggest you consider the MTX 5500 series 8". I use them and am more than happy with their performance. Even overpowering them by 50% they never pop or complain.

That RLI-8 looks scary. Personally I think an 18" is just too much, 15" is still pushing it (for me), 10s and 12s are the way to go in car audio IMO.
