Alpine Type R 2-ohm vs 4-ohm

just looking @ some stuff on the net...was wondering what the major differance btw the Alpine type r 1242d & the Alpine type r 1222d are other than the ohms and which one is better ?

and how does the ohm make a differance

took a look @ the specs and they look the same...

Thanks.

the only difference is how much they will draw from an amp. amps are usually rated @ 2 ohms and 4 ohms. you should choose your subs based on what your amp is best suited for.

Then you should really find out more about the amp before you decide on any type of sub. Post the model number of the amp, google it, something to find out what it really is.

a pick could really help narrow it down. if you dont know about ohms then you should really read up on them. running you subs in series or parralel will change the total ohms aswell. i really really advise you start ready a bit more on this or else you can damage/fry your subs and/or amp.
