amp turning off

Just edited, pulled speaker out and its 2ohm DVC 50-400w RMS.

Hello everyone,

A friend loaned me a 10" old kicker 07CVR102 in a ported box with a JBL LC-A502 (130w rms bridged). The CVR is 50-400w RMS 2ohm DVC. I'm not sure how the amp is wired bridged 4ohm to 2ohm speaker, but i think I just answered my own question. Amp keeps shutting off, i'm guessing it has to do with being only 130W RMS amp, bridged 4ohm and speaker is 2ohm DVC.

Not sure how its wired, but If I buy a 500W RMS mono amp, I can set the gain to put out 400w RMS and this old speaker should move pretty good. I'll need to look into how to wire for DVC. Amp options are 1ohm or 2ohm, or 2 or 4ohm. 1 or 2ohm is DB Neo1.5K, 2 or 4ohm is Sound Ordnance M1500. Both same price.

8 gauge power cable, solid ground in trunk, amp is not getting too hot, and when it shuts off, full power off for 2-3 seconds when gain is about 15%. So right now 130w amp set at 15% gain, HU at sub level +5. Anything beyond this, at volume 35 on HU, and it shuts off all the time.
