Yeah I'm gunna try and convince my mom to buy one so I can figure out how to install it and stop worry about everything when ever we go in a store.

I'm just looking for something cheap that works, window break, doors whatever you think I'll need and it has to have a 2way so that I actually know when its going off.

i dont think most places will sell you an alarm without install anymore. the only place i can think of would be wal-mart for thier bulldog security or canadian tire with thier whatever security. if you havn't installed alot of alarms i'd probably get it installed by someone it would'nt really cost much more than the 2 way alarm itself. an then you have the piece of mind to know that if something is wrong with it you can point the finger of blame and responsibility to someone other than yourself.

ya, what he said, especially with a newer vehicle, you don't wanna be messin' with all those wonderful expensive computers in that thing.

You are looking for a 'cheap' 2-way alarm that you can install yourself, and you have no experience....This could get ugly!

I suggest you save up a few hundred bucks and have a reputable shop install a 2-way for you...it will save you a ton of grief and you will have a warranty.

A buddy of mine ordered an alarm off the net with all the features and trimmings. Read the instructions and did the whole thing himself. I couldn't believe it.

He was like dude come over and help me and I told him up and down that the project was too big for us to handle and he did it anyway himself and it all works perfect and still does. He even ordered a mercury sensor for the trunk since the alarm didn't come with one. Put it in the trunk underneath so the alarm goes off when the trunk lid is lifted even an inch. Turned out very nice.

But, it was still no walk in the park. A lot of wires to mess with. I'd rather just have someone else do it as well.

I don't understand that, why not? If you want to buy something you should me able to buy it. That'd be like Best Buy not selling me a videogame unless I let the salesman come over to my house and put it in the PS2 for me.

If you want to install it yourself they should let you. They should just automatically void the warranty if you do it yourself if that's what they're worried about. That could turn away a lot fo potential business by not letting people by what they want.

Man, I'm tellin' ya, that is not a "newbie" friendly vehicle. If it was an older vehicle, I'd say no problem, but that is DEFINATELY a vehicle you'd want someone professional to tackle. I know you said you don't want to have someone install it, but in all seriousness, I'm trying to save you a huge headache in the end. We're all just lookin' out for you.

I've done enough installs and taken my car apart enough times, I can do it myself just help me pick an alarm. It can be off ebay or an online store too.
