deck won't turn on...?

Ok so yesterday I went to install my systerm, I had it all done but when I went to power on my deck nothing happened. :S
I wired in a spare deck that I thankfuly had and it worked well (as well as a half working deck will, old Pioneer).
Anyway upon testing the deck at the battery I noticed that when I put power to + and hold the ground to the - terminal that it powers on for a split second then turns off immediately. Does anyone have experience with something like I am describing as to help direct me to find out whats wrong?
For now I'm using my old deck but since its not working 100% (i can't change any settings on it or turn my sub on) I would really like to get this Deck to work.
The deck is a Planet Audio P255 deck if that matters. the plug on the back has a 12v constant (yellow), 12v accessory(red), Power control (blue) and a black (grnd) wires. I followed the same steps to wire it in as my Pioneer deck but this one just flashed on as stated above.
any help is VERY much appreciated.
Thanks

Did you check the fuses? measure the voltage after the fuses (deck side) and see if there are 12V+. if all the powers are there (incld ground) and the deck don't come on. looks like you have to send the deck in for service.
