Hertz Car Speakers?

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has heard of Hertz car audio speakers. They are part of the Italian company Elettromedia which also makes Audison car amps. I was at East Hamilton Radio last week looking to upgrade my factory car speakers. Not really knowing where to start (home audio is more of my expertise), I asked the salesman what he would recommend and he said -- hands-down -- Hertz speakers.

I need 6.5" component speakers in the front and 6.5" coaxial in the rear. I listened to the coaxials in the store and they sounded quite good (IMHO) but I couldn't listen to the components as they weren't hooked up. The components sell for around $250 and the coaxials are $150.

Apparently EHR is one of only 2 stores in Canada (according to the salesman) that sell Hertz. They don't seem to be sold at all in the U.S. (as I received no links to U.S. sites from Google) but I get a lot of sites from the U.K., Germany, Russia, and Italy. I can't find any reviews, just sites that sell them.

Has anyone had any experience with this brand?

Thanks for your time.

Jim

Email Hertz at questions@elettromedia.it and ask them the authorized dealers around your area. Do some more audition and compare them with Focal. I auditioned couple pairs of Hertz high and low in a shop and compare them to Focal. The Mille series sounds really good but below $1000 I will choose Focal.

Wow, 2 stores only in Canada eh and none in the US, and now on the forum we can list how many tonight do you think. I know of 3 on Vancouver Island alone. Sounds like the salesman was selling the story instead of the product. Why you can't find them online is simple, they are prohibited from being sold there. There are lots of great speakers to consider. What are the goals of the system, what vehicle are they for, what is in your system now or hope to have in the future? These are all questions that need to be answered before speaker can be chosen. Choose the speaker for the application, not the application for the speaker.

Certified Radio also sells them here in Edmonton.

They are a nice speaker, but there are better.

I auditioned a couple pairs, although nothing really high end, and I was pleased, but not pleased enough to buy them.

For nearly the same money, Id pick up a set of Pioneer TS-C720PRS. They can be had online for around $190-220 US.

Hey guys, check out Custom Auto Radio in whitby. I picked my Hertz components up there; in fact they sell hertz subs too. I am pleased with my set of Hertz EV 165, they sound really good for the money....
