Hey audio fanatic what speaker setup should I go with????
Like the tittle says, I have a car with 5.25's in the back, 5.25's in the door's, and 4" speakers on the dash under the windshield.
Please help me choose what speakers are good this year, and which have the best rating, I dont know anything, is there any website that explain and compare different speakers. So far I know that Focals are good but I dont know which ones to go with. And for the door speakers, I found the new Alpine 5.25 Type R Components are not that bad. What do you think and please feel free to forward me to any outside sources, such as links or charts or anything really.
Also I have an alpine amp rated at 250 watts max it's an 05 model amp, that I will be using just for speakers. Just so everyone knows I will be powering speakers with the amp.
Thanks

Post the model # of the amp please. Do you have a budget for your new speakers? Will you be adding sound deadening to the doors? What vehicle is it? Always is a good idea to post as much pertinent information that you can.

For that speaker set-up, i would suggest an un-conventional approch. It'll be interesting to see if anybody agrees or disagrees.
I'd go with 5.25 coax for rear fill. Deck power would do that just fine.
In the front, I'd go active with dedicated 5-1/4" midbass in the doors, you need crossover at about 100 Hz to 250 Hz.
And in the dash, you need good 4" 2ways, running everything above 250 Hz. Preferably something with a swivel tweeter.
To run this you need a 4 channel amp for doors and dash, with crossovers and separate level controls. And/or a head unit that has all that.
Time alignment would help for the speakers are different distances away.
Subs in trunk, better if your back seat folds down or if it's a hatchback, you're all set.
Good Luck.
I don't sell anything, just offer free advice, so i won't recommend brand. I'd get out, (step A-wayyy from the computer), look, listen, deal.
