hooking up speakers and amp to honda elite

I know its a scooter but thought maybe you guys could help. New member by the way, St Louis. I have a honda elite, and i came across some basic 3.5 inch jbl speakers (2) and a sony 200 watt amp(2020).
Anyway, not much room in the ol' honda storage compartment so i wanted to get away with out using a head unit.
So i figure i can hook up ipod through 3.5 mm jack to rca input cable that goes to amp. That would work right? Also, im assuming the remote wire on the amp is a accessory wire, so i would want to hook that up to a kill switch and then from kill switch to battery? And another question, why if the amp has a remote wire for power why does it still have to be hooked up to battery? Im worried about draining the hondas charging system, although the sony amp is about the size of a decent fist.
