Scosche HD speakers

I picked up a set of 6.5 and 6x9
Scosche High Definition speakers.
I tried to find reviews online but i can barely find their existence, only a mention that scosche did up a civic with it.
They dont even have a HD section on their site

Anyone else heard of these speakers?

They were carried by Walmart for a while, no idea on how they sound or quality control.

Hook em up and see how they are...on a car audio board you'll probably be the only person with them...doesn't mean they aren't good, just not a typical choice for enthusiasts.

I will post my review right now these are the specs
I wont be able to get the full potential out of these speakers since i'm running on a stock deck and no amp

Scosche HD69 (6x9)
450W peak power
150W RMS
4 Ohm
19mm adjustable tweeter
built in crossover.

Scosche HD67 ( 6.5-6.75")
300W max power
100W RMS
4 Ohm
19mm removable tweeter for relocation for door pillars.
built in crossover.

They have titanium domes on the tweeters
Kevlar weave cones.

If you want to give them a fair shot, then you're going to have to install them properly.....especially the fronts.

Deaden those doors and make sure the driver is solidly mounted.....I would try them as coaxes first before going to the effort of putting the tweeters up higher just in case you really don't like the way they sound.

They might surprise you at that point, but on deck power only they are being handicapped......at that point you could pull the tweeters and tape or stick them up on your A pillars, have a listen and then decide if you want to mount them there permanently.

If you are still happy with them, adding a decent (50-100WX4) amp will bring them to life.

ya once school's over and i can afford to get some deadening and am amp i'll do a proper test.

my stock tweeter locations are at the fr corners of my dash and a pain to get at. so i think i'll leave em together

I just installed them today, they sound really better than my friend's sony xplodes i had.
very clear sound and I can tell that the deck is not strong enough to produce full power for the speakers to provide full potential.

I will post updates later when car is matted with 4ch amp

I have a feeling that scosche got rid of the HD series and repurposed them to their EFX competition speakers the designs are identical down to the integrated crossover. The different cone material and lower power and rms rating on the EFX series may suggest an internal change.

For 47/pair for the scoche HD speakers if u find them are a good bang for buck. and if my theory that they are the same as the EFX ones you are already saving 180 on the 6.7" and 100 on the 6x9s.

I was looking around at 4ch amps
do i really need more tham 50RMS per speaker cause that seems the be the common ground with most commonly used amps these days.
