kicker cvt12 vs. jl 13tw5

so im trying to put a system together for my 2005 jeep tj. i've been looking around and so far i've narrowed it down to these two sbwoofers. they appear to be the best shallow mounts i've come across. need somethin thats loud but clean and can't just be anything because i want to be able to hear it bump when the top is down. in short tryna get the the best sound possible in a tj. also would one be enough or go for two? i am also open to other suggestions so just let me kno what you guys think

From an SQ point of view, I don't think Kicker compares with JL in any respect. I haven't heard either of the flat subs mentioned, but if there standard subs are any indication, JL will sound better.

Of the 4 shallow subs that I have played with, the Clarion is a sweaty POS that blows if you look at it, the Earthquake blows and the guy CDN distributor will not warranty them (sent him 3), the Pioneer Premiere is a solid one and the oldest on the market and the Kenwood Excelon thunders with solid performance. As far as the new Kicker and JL go, no idead at all.
