Morel vs Hertz vs Focal

Morel vs Hertz vs Focal
Now I realize that this topic has probably been beaten to death, but wanted to throw it out there one more time. Before you assail me for not searching the forum, the main reason for this thread is that I understand Focal has a replacement out for its well regarded K2P.
I spent the day visiting shops and demoing the following products (all were 6.5" 2 way components)
1. Focal K2P
2. Hertz MLK165
3. Focal Polyglass 165 V1
4. Focal KRX2
5. Morel Hybrid
My two favourites were the last two I tested. It's hard for me to say which one was better, as they were at two different shops and about 30-40 minutes between sessions. I think I probably liked the KRX2 a little better but there is a significant difference in price. I think they are rather different sounding, with the Morel being a bit more laid back and warm, while the new Focal was a little brighter and more detailed. Has anybody heard the Morel Elate? I can get them for the same price at the new Focal.
Next on my list would likely be the Hertz followed by the K2P. Hertz were definitely mellower, not quite as lively as the Focals. Certainly not as fatiguing on the ear as the K2P, though I heard in the K2Ps details I had not heard before. I am a bit of a detail freak.......
What about you folks? I would love to hear from anybody who has owned or auditioned any of these products. particularly the Morel Elates which I was not able to hear today. Also, is there anything else I should be adding to my list? My budget for front components is $1000 (I just sold my left kidney....;-)) taxes in, but could stretch this by $100 or so if you think there is something else worth looking at that stretches this figure a bit.
I was also thinking CDT braxials then adding an upstage kit down the road. Any thoughts? Would they fit my budget? Sorry for the novel but I'm looking to buy sometime in May - any help is appreciated!

Can you steer me towards some dealers? I live up in Collingwood now, but I'm down in Toronto, Burlington and the KW area almost every week for business, so I can go have a listen.
Dyns and DLS for that matter were also on my shortlist, but I haven't been able to find any retailers in Ontario.
thx

Wow, nice review of the products and you did s good job of dissecting their sounds. The question for you is which sounded more like real music to you? That is probably the one to buy. Between your top two you cant go wrong, and since your dealing with the retail network you will get good service after the sale and quality installation so the investment will probably outlast the car.

i belive the best sounding speakers of the ones who listed would be a combination of a couple of them by the sounds of what youve said....most of the speakers you listed i believe can be bought separately, by that i mean you can get the hertz tweeters and the focal mids if thats what you like a,d make your own set..........

I have a set of Elates for my front stage you could audition. However i dont belive my install will do them justice. I'm local in Wasaga Beach, give me a PM if you like.
