08 Ford Fusion $2000 budget suggestions
hey all new to the forum..
I have a 08 fusion with factory 4 speaker stereo w/o sync. I have a $2000 budget in mind here is what I want.
-New head unit touch screen
-blue tooth for iphone
-gps
-Ipod hood up
-don't want to cut or modify my factory face plate.. I dont mind adding something to fill the gap (if there is one).
Ford fusion came with 4 and 6 speaker setup I want to change the factory 4 in the doors and add 2 in the empty holes in the trunk. I also have 2 mini tweeter/speakers in the upper door. I don't care if they are functional or not.
I would also like a decent sub woofer setup nothing crazy though.
I mostly listen to heavy metal/rock.. sometimes little bit of rap(old school)
Oh and I will be installing this my self too.
Thanks in advanced,
Nick Steele

You're going to require one of these PAC-RP4-FD11-Ford-Radio-Replacement-Interface.html?tp=3486
Which may mean you'll need a shop to install the unit for you.
Look around for prices, but at first glance it looks like it runs from anywhere between $850 to $1000.
I'd suggest only switching out your front speakers with a good pair of component (separate woofers and tweeters) speakers. I'm not going to suggest any brands. You need to spend a hours in the stores, listening to speakers and determine which sound you like, in the budget you have in mind.
If you're set on adding another set of speakers to the rear deck, here is an idea. It appears that the rear deck also takes 5.25" speakers. So you'd buy 2 sets of 5.25" speakers. Replace the ones in the rear doors, and add a set in your rear deck. Wire the left side speakers together, wire the right side speakers together, and split the amplified power between the set. If wired correctly, you'll drop the load on the amp to 2 ohm, which will increase the output, so you have more power to split between the 2 speakers.
I would suggest a 5 channel amp, as this route will probably be the best bang for your buck. Look for something that does 80-100W RMS per channel, then about 250-350W RMS for the subwoofer.
I have to go to work. But I'll come back to this thread later tonight and add more...

I'm actually licensed mechanic and work in a shop. I just wanted more of a idea whats a good bang for your buck. Unfortunately where i am located I don't have alot of places to go check out the different sound qualities.
There is a future shop a few hours away, but there selection is pretty pathetic compared to other future shops I have been to.
no one touches my car except me lol.
