After market multimedia unit and OEM sound system. Help!
I have a Mitsubishi Outlander with Rockford Fosgate sound system and I'm planing to buy a multimedia unit.
The graphs are as follows:
THE OEM UNIT: 8 channel amp-->2 wires connected to the cd player, it seems as it is not part of the channels, --->2 channels to the woofer--->4 each speaker--->2 tweeters =8 channels
THE MULTIMEDIA: it connects the unit with 5 RCA cables on a 5 channel amp which in turn connects to 4 speakers and a center speaker. Then the woofer is connected with a RCA cable directly from the unit and not through the amp.
Now I have a few concerns with this installation.
1.The seller says of the unit says that it supports RF sound system but on the description of MITO-02 it says that RF has digital signal hence you need MITO-02 adapter on top of the unit.
2. OEM amp is 8 channels, the multimedia graphs shows 5 ch amp and it connects the woofer with RCA cable I believe. Not sure how it will be connected and matched with the system. I am wondering if my 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and the woofer will work normally(with the same wiring) as long as the multimedia unit is connected by 2 wires with the existing amp. (based on OEM graph there are two wires between the amp and the OEM cd player).
3. Based on what you see here, can someone tell me of any other problem that might evolve while installing this unit? Anything else that I should be looking at? There are some guys that have installed this unit on the same car and everything works, but they don't have the RF sound system hence the concerns.
Sorry if the questions do not make sense but I don't have much knowledge on such things; I just don't want to buy the unit and have problems with the installation and adaptability. So please share any helpful comments that you might have.
Thank you

Your info seems a little vague to me... Is this multimedia unit a factory multimedia unit, or is it aftermarket? Are you trying to integrate the factory entertainment system into your factory premium stereo system? Do I have that right?

the multimedia is after market made specifically for this car. They make them in China for different cars. Yes, I need this unit to work with the system. If you want I can email you the actual diagrams of both systems, cause the forum won't let me do it here until I post 5 times.

You are going to need the MITO-2. That aftermarket deck doesn't have the digital turn on that the car's "bus" needs to tell the RF amps to turn on. You will use the regular speaker wires from the new deck (not the RCA's) and connect them to the MITO-2, as it has the RCA connections and speaker connections to interface with the rest of the system. It's much like the GM system that does not have a 12V accessory at the radio harness, it is a data wire as well.
As a cheaper, albeit harder alternative, you could run strictly RCA's to the factory amps. Of course the new unit doesn't have an output for the center channel, so you would just be running front left, front right, rear left, and rear right from the new deck to the factory 5 channel speaker amp, and one of the decks two RCA sub outputs to the factory sub amp.
Neither of these methods will give you a center channel, as the new deck doesn't have the output for it, but IMO I'd spend the extra coin on the MITO-2 so I could assemble everything on my bench and plug it all in at the dash and be done

OK so just to clarify, let me know if I got something wrong;
MITO-02 will be like a bridge between the multimedia unit and the rest of the system. There will be no need to connect new wires all over the car(taking out door panels etc.), the only work done will be performed at the head unit on the dash board and all speakers, tweeters and woofer will be operational as normal.
Can you explain the center channel or center speaker because I see it here on the diagram of the multimedia unit and also you said that i won't have it, but I don't know what it is. Also I was thinking to upgrade the 4 speakers and get more powerful ones. They are 6"X9" aren't they?
thanks again

The MITO-2 is the bridge between the deck and the rest of the system, you're right. If you plan to replace the speakers you will want to run new speaker wire from the deck out to the speakers, otherwise they will be powered by the factory amp and will be limited in their output. Either that or run them off of an aftermarket 4 channel amp and run RCA's from the deck to the new amp, speaker wires from that amp instead of from the deck. I'd tackle one thing at a time though... Get the deck in and see how it sounds. If you're not happy, then move to new speakers. As for the center speaker, it needs a dedicated output to work properly. The new head unit (deck) doesn't have a center channel output, so you won't be able to use that speaker, aka no sound will be produced from it. You, in theory, could use a splitter from one of the front or rear left or right speakers, but it would most definetly not sound right to you. And your speakers are 6.5"
