big crackle then no sound.. need help plz!
Hey guys in need of a bit of help. I had my amps and subs out of my car for a little while I was transporting gear, no problems with them. Then when I put them pack in, hook it up and turn on the car (happens regardless if the engine is on or off), I get this loud crackly sound then my amp goes in to protect mode and nothing comes out of the speakers..
I'll list what gear I have and how it's set up along with everything I've tried to get it to work.
-I'm running a sony head unit with 4 rca outs (no speakers are connected to speaker outs)
-running then down the passenger side of my car,
-one set goes in to my OA OAK600 to run my 2x12 subs with
-other set goes to my sony xplod 1000watt 4 channel amp with rca splitters to fill the 4 inputs on the amp
-4 channel amp is bridged to run front splits (alpine spg-17cs) and that's all (no back speakers or anything)
So I've tried to eliminate a few things
-taken out the rca splitters for the 4channel amp and plugged the normal rca ends in to different inputs
-plugging the 4 channel rca's in to the OA sub amp (doesn't make noise or go in to protect mode, runs fine)
-Plugged some rca to 3.5mm in to my phone and straight in to the 4 channel amp and all that seems to work fine.
-plugged the subs rca's in to the 4 channel amp and same problem
I thought it was the rca's until they worked on the other amp without the issue, so I thought it might have been the 4channel amps rca inputs, but they work fine when plugged in to my phone via 3.5mm to rca
Not sure what is going on! Anyone got some insight on to what might be happening here? Any help is appreciated
