Head Unit, Amp, Speakers, Sub setup tomorrow!
Hi all,
I am going to be installing my system tomorrow into my 1996 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. I already have a double DIN head unit installed. It's the JVC KW-NT3HD. I installed my speakers, amp, sub in my old car and now am transferring them into my new one. My set up is going to be simple. 4 speakers, 1,2 or 3 amps, maybe a capacitor, and 1 sub.
Can someone help me out on some of the final details with the amp setup?
My 4 speakers are Pioneer TS-G650M 180w MAX. 4ohm (35w NOM. Impedance)
I have one amp Kenwood KAC-529S 250w amp
I have one amp Bazooka CSA150.1 250w amp (mono I think, came with my subwoofer)
I have one 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch P2 2 or 4 ohm subwoofer
Basically I am wondering if I need one amp for front, one for rear, and one for sub? If so what watts should I be getting? What size capacitor should I look for?
My goal is not to blow the neighbourhood up here, just to have some real nice clean crisp sound setup.

first no need for capacitor, those are use as bandaid and in your case you shouldn't any power issue with those amps. Use the kenwood to power the front, power the rear from the deck and use the bazoka for the sub. I'm not crazy about your components but it will be better and louder than stock
wattage is not that important, i would start with what ive said. The important is how well the speaker will be install (solid baffle, deaden and seal the door, correct polarity...) Sub amp could be upgraded for something in the 300w range (yours max out at 150W)
If I ended upgrading my front and rear speakers. Wouldn't a new amp benefit me? And your saying my subs amp is fine because higher wattage won't work with that specific model subs specs.
No i recommend to get a more powerful amp for that sub, 150W (if 2ohm load) is not much for a sub, i would look at 300w and up but be sure to determine what's the load of that sub first.
But since you already the equipement, i would use it and spend my money on deadener and spend the time to make sure the speakers are well installed. also if you need to buy a wire kit, get 4gauge, you will eventually want more power and a 8g will not be enough then.
