HELP!!! 4 speakers, 1 sub, to a 4 channel amp?
First post here, so if I am missing any details I apologize.
My current setup includes:
Head Unit - JVC KW-NT500HDT
Front Door Speakers - Alpine SPR-60 6.5" Type-R
Rear Door Speakers - Alpine SPS-410 4" Type-S
Amp - Hifonics ZRX1000.4 1000 watt peak power, Class A/B, 2/3/4 channel.
Cadence 2 Farad Capacitor.
I was very limited in speaker options due to weird sizes of Subaru WRX.
My main question is about adding a sub. I have the amp and capacitor already mounted on a custom rack and really do not want to change it. Is it possible to parallel wire the four speakers to channel 1/2 and then bridge channel 3/4 and wire the sub to that?
I am also not sure what type of sub to go with? I am leaning towards an Alpine type R 12" as I know this will fit in the box I have. But I am not sure If I should go with 2 or 4 ohms, and if I should go with single or dual voice coils, also what power level it should be?
Any advice would be extremely appreciated as I am not too knowledgeable when it gets into the fine details of things.

So you currently dont have any speakers connected to your head unit? They are only connected through the RCA outputs?
If so, you can power the smaller internal speakers through the head unit and then bridge the 2 slots that are freed up to connect the amp to new sub. This is not ideal because you will need to tune the amp to work with both your sub and your mids but it is doable
The Alpine type R 12 will be a little bit under power with about 250 watts RMS at 4 ohms going to it. It's rated to handle 300-1000 watts RMS

The type r will be underpowered but will work fine and get plenty loud with 250 watts rms from the bridged channels 3 and 4...you need a dual 2 ohm sub in order to wire in series for a 4ohm load ( virtually all 4 channel amps will handle only a 4ohm load when 2 channels are bridged..but you can check the manual). As for the front and rear speakers, I would run fronts off channel 1 and 2, and use the internal amp from the deck for the rear fill speakers especially since they are only 4". That will give you more power to the fronts which need it for sound quality and output and will allow sound settings to apply only to the front. However, You can run all 4 speakers at 2ohm total load on each of channels 1 and 2 by parallelling them. Each speaker will receive same power and you can not fade, plus any x over settings made at the head unit or amp (pre amp, active processing) will affect all speakers the same..ie. 80hz high pass will be put on all 4 speakers instead of just the rear for instance. If you're using passive crossovers then it's not a problem except for the power and fading issues. I actually have my system set up like this for now and honestly it sounds really good (mind you I have component 6x9s in the rear deck which don't mind the added power).
