Need help planning out door speakers (ohm issue)
Greetings.
I'm in need of some advise.
I have a new car I'm doing some stereo upgrades to. My roadblock is deciding what speakers to get for the doors. Here's the situation...
I'll soon have an aftermarket Pioneer Nex Head Unit in.
The car has factory separates up front. I wish to (for now) only replace the door speaker (coax), and retain the a-pillar factory tweeter.
Now, I know that tweeter is wired in parallel to the 6.5" door speaker, and that it's 4 ohms.
So, should I get a 2 ohm 6.5", or a 4 ohm for the door.
Replacing both tweeter and door speaker with a full component set isn't something I want to tackle just yet. Perhaps later. The tweeter install is a bit more involved than I want to deal with right now.
So, any suggestions?
