my compustar hasn't worked since about 6 months after I got it repaired last time.

I'm looking at one that's out now that will take a picture and send it to your remote, which has a full colour LCD display, could be handy for deciphering false alarms or when there's actually someone in your dash wrecking stuff

^^^ What model is it that you have, what are the issues with it and who installed it? I have relatively few issues with Compustar alarms.

Better have a 200$ alarm with 500$ installation than 500$ alarm with 200$ install.... Even the best alarm, if all wire are showing and the alarm stand with tie-wrap, won't protect your car for very long.

I have the top of the line from 2005, 2 way pager remote, which broke in about 3 months, and I'm on the 2nd brain. the remote works funtionally, but the display is garbage, but the brain won't do anything.
I had it done by MTA, who is a great installer and knows his stuff, he even did everything to IASCA wiring spec for me. I'd put 1000 on a brain swap fixing things really fast.

I had setup a unique alarm / entry set for a buddy of mine, essentically we hooked up a hidden area where he could swipe his finger and the car would be enabled/disabled, and only for him. This also worked with entry to the car. Was bulletproof. I'm already working on installing that for my car..

Can be a bit pricy but with the correct alarm system and finger identification, it was handy.

It would be cool if someone got in your unlocked car and when the door shuts the horn beeps, all lights flash, the doors lock and the buttons don't work, no ignition, the windows are unbreakable, and it calls 911 and sends them to that location, just so you can catchamuthafcka.

The only problem with that idea is it probably wont work when the ********** is just trashing your car to the sum of $1500+ to repair to sell your HU for $40 for some crack. Door would most likely stay open.

Fun idea though.

I have a ~500$ alarm in my car.

2way
3500foot
starter/alarm

Im very pleased with it. My car is never that far from me. Im alwais in range so if my alarm ring, my remote vibrate in my pocket. I can then run to my car
