*POLL* Are you in for The Amateur Challange & Bass Race at the up coming show?
what you need to do is get a song that has good bass, load it into a program like fruity loops, pro tools or reason. Now in the 30sec section of the song you want to use for the comp you load in a 20-60hz sweep, or the Hz that you know works best in your situation sweeps are easier to hide
. Then you hit record and then burn, there is your secret track which is why burned CD's arent allowed would be my guess.

all of you guys are finding ways to bent the rules to try to win dont waste your time. I'll tell you myslef i've tried all of it - boosting bass in a song, encoding a frequency range into a song, etc, etc. But if you saw my competition cd player you'd see that it's all set on flat. Everything at 0, including bass and with all xovers also set on flat.
There is ONE thing that helps your score HUGE and is considered cheating. It does have to do with combining sounds as well. But unless you know how the TermLab mic works you'll never figure it out. Europeans did it a few years back, and got caught doing it. But this method could only get you by when you are burping straight up, doesnt help in Street Stock or Bass Race.
i did this like 4 years ago. it doesnt help at all. the best tool is the spl meter. a 20 to 60hz sweep is way too wide by the way. chances are you are not peaking below 35 or higher than 55.

it all comes down to the right frequency and signal strenght. Louder bass doesnt mean either. You should obtain the same score weather the bass is bosted or not, just at a different volume. But spl will be the same in both cases.
So much stuff to talk about in this thread...
-About cheating and making a cd....Would you really feel good about winning if you knew you cheated???...PLUS I'm pretty sure that they'll check everyone's cd before they run.
-I think it's a fair rule to only use bought cd's. Richard did this last season in CSPL and as an AMA competitor I didn't have any problems with it. I actually lent out a couple cds to other competitiors at finals...
-The Carter 3... A milli track isn't a good pick because the bass cuts out completely for a few seconds...Yuli I'm sure will back me up that anything that cuts the bass out is NOT a good track to pick for base race.
-I competed in Base Race once last year (thanks Dave & Ed for the help by the way) I used a song from Bubba Sparxx and I hear Gold Digger by Kanye is a good track to use.
- There are also bass race specific cd's that I know Don & Mike will have at the show....I'm sure they'd be up for use.
-$20 gets your entry fee and food....I think it's an additional $2 for the noob challenge..

well i figured the bass cutting out wasn't a good thing, but i listen to my music slow so if burned cds were allowed my copy of a milli would have had a little longer bass, but i understand your point about the cheating thing, and like i said i'm sure there isn't anyone on here who is enough of a douche to try something like that. i would still say that overlooking the no burned cds rule could be overlooked just so that people don't have to go and spend extra money for a disc if they buy their music as mp3s and such. plus it makes it easier for people to bring different types of music instead of everyone showing up with a bass mekanik cd or playing kanye's part in put on
i think anyone that can hit a 130 as a noob needs to try bass race. it's a blast. what does it matter if bass race cd's are burnt or not? it's doesn't make it any easier to make a perfect 129.9, and for the amateur challange, are we using music or htz? i'm a amateur @ 1000 watts rms. i might do street stock this year. keep it simple.
