yes. The Iasca was supposed to be a 2x event, so they wanted to set an Iasca record, but with only 1 or 2 burps left on their recones, they opted not to compete at all, and to just head home before it got too late.

Actually they don't go through many at all maybe a pair per year just to keep them fresh.
