I'm a ex-futureshop installer. By choice, I had to move back to Toronto for school, and thusly had to leave my wonderful job. But now I'm looking for another install job.

Anywhere in the GTA, preferably near the west end as I live in Etobicoke. I don't have my MECP yet but I have all the books, and am working torwards it.

Well i don't know how many shops will hire someone that doesn't have they MECP certifate even that you did work at Futureshop.

Really MECP does not mean that much to me as a shop owner. I have never done the Mobile Dynamics course but have wirtten and passed the test, but only wrote the test because we needed the peice of paper for the shop. MECP is a great new program but I'll bet if you ask the installers that have been doing it for 5 plus years only a small percentage of them will have MECP unless they work/have worked for a big box or corporate chain in which it is almost mandatory from what I understand. If I was looking for an installer personally MECP would not really be a concern of mine aslong as the person can demonstrate they know what they are doing!
