Have you done any installs that have won an IASCA or other recognized organization SQ competition?

I am interested in finding an installer to install my system according to IASCA rules and also an installer who can tune it properly.

The only catch is that I don't have unlimited funds for this and would very much like to trade services with someone like yourself who may need such services. High end web design and search engine positioning is what my company specializes in.

Let me know if this interests you at all.

I basically have all the hardware - just need to have it installed sometime this year in the summer.

This guy has been a future shop installer for a while, may be very qualified, but you want him to build you an award winning IASCA install? AND you want him to tune it? There are VERY few people that can competitively build and tune an IASCA car, and even fewer in Canada.

I may be out on a limb here, but if you want an award winning IASCA install you need to go to the guys with the proven track record. In addition, I hate to say it but it's going to cost you. Spending hours upon hours, wire looming, zip tying, ensuring everything is within IASCA spec and then sitting there and tunning it for YEARS (not a day, week or month) will cost you. My system sounded fantastic at the '04 IASCA world Finals where it placed 3rd separated by 2 points from the class winner and one point from the gentleman who placed second. The car was started in '02, and it took multiple installers, two years, many install changes, a few different equipment changes, and hours upon hours of tuning to get it to be competitive. This isn't something you want someone unfamiliar with IASCA specs building as I heard the hard way. Pay more up front, get it done right and it will work for you. I went the "cheap" route and it ended up costing me 3 times more in the end. Stick with guys that have done it before.

Actually I think he was refering to chris who owns Perfect Tones with me. He does have experiance in building IASCA SQ cars and he has never worked at future shop or any other big box store.

One thing I do agree wit is it takes alot of time and money and DEDICATION

If you did not notice my name is Perfect Tones-Chris. Aside from that drspd is right that it takes many many many many hours of work to build and tune an award winning SQ vehicle and is sure as hell not cheap. For those of you who are wondering who drspd is he is/was (sorry not sure if you still compete) an IASCA competitor with his blue Acura RSX which is beautiful I must say so he knows what it takes to do it. On the other hand as far as going to someone that already has experience building SQ cars as opposed to someone with less or no experience is really in the eye of the beholder. The people with experience had to have someone take a chance on them when they built an SQ car for the first time. Experience is big dont get me wrong but in my opinion a person with patience, know how, and dedication can also build great SQ cars.

 

hi Chris - I wasn't refering to you at the start of my post, I was referring to Scribbles.

Sorry for the confusion.

A lot of the guys who do the SQ systems started off working with other guys that build SQ systems. Many of them have consequently become IASCA judges which makes them learn the rule-book that much better.

Either way, IASCA SQ takes a ton of time, dedication and consequently money. I have full respect to the guys who build there own systems and tune it themselves. Jayson (white cavalier), Mark (gold contour), etc.

Dr. I realized that you were not talking about me after I posted and I appologize if I sounded condisending at all. I should have edited my post but I forgot. As far as continuing on with this post I feel that drspd has really summed it all up in the above quote.
