OK, now those of you that know me will know where I am coming from.

1) In Business, when you bad mouth your competition in front of a customer what is it you hope to gain??? Think about it, all you are doing is bad mouthing the whole industry. I always try to avoid "discussing" the old job. Just because it is not the way YOU do it doesn't necessarily mean it is done incorrectly. Look at the job, find out what went wrong, and just FIX IT. The customer will always come back to you if you just fix it, when you bad mouth the work you are, in a sense, bad mouthing the customer. Remember, the customer made a decision to bring it to the first shop THEN to you. How do you think it looks when in short you say....."I can not believe you let them do this to your car.......you must be some sort of MORON!!!!!" Yup, that is good for the ole return customer service.

2) The second thing that bugs me is I call over to a Comp to grab a kit I really really need........."Yup, we got it" but when I run over to grab it and as soon as they see me and who I work for...."Oh sorry man, just sold it". You people can bite my ass, I always cover my Employee shirts before walking into a Comp's Shop to buy a kit and never make a big deal over it. I have always been willing to sell my last kit/harness to a local shop that needs it because I am hoping that when I need the favor I can call on it......Guys, we are all on the same Team....CAR AUDIO!!!!! I have even gone as far as put in a friendly call to my local shops when I encounter a "sour" customer or have pointed my customers that are looking for specific product to the local shops that would carry it.

3) People who bad mouth other people's custom work...................really now. Just because you would not do it "that" way. I would not go a buy a custom Harley, BUT, I can appreciate all the work that went into building it. Believe me, That's what matters, the effort and the vision. To all of you guys pushing the envelope......WAY TO GO! I really enjoy seeing the pics you post, keep them coming

Bad mouthing the competition shows insecurity and lack of professionalism.

I also sold my last kit to other shops, but I can see why a small independant dealer might not do the same to a big place like FS. At FS the automated ordering system automatically reorded any kits used, it took no effort on the part of the shop to replenish stock on kits. However at a small indy dealer they may not make the order for another week or so, and it would suck to have to pay full pop back at FS for the kit which is probably $25. On the other hand, if they tell you on the phone they will sell it to you they should when you come down there.

It's every installer's god given right to nitpick other installers work, keeps everyone on their toes!

If some one came into my shop and previously called before hand to order the part i would sell it to them regardless or comp or not .... its a give and take thing and that way people can grow together , as a customer i have been stiffed like that way also cause I told them i bought stuff from someother shop and i need the part they carried = so they say i just sold it as if , who on hell buys euro parts like me duh !! Im not going to bash that company but i should of talked to the owner and have him deal with his employee .... share and we can all get along better

Nothing ruins it for me more when a salesperson or an installer bad mouths either my knowledge on something (when I know I'm right lol), the brand of gear I use or my install. Do it when I leave, I don't care but don't make me feel stupid in front of your face. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know of my experience. Constructive criticism I don't mind, or polite correction on something. But don't be an arrogant jerk.
