Eastern shows..
i know that we've had some kinda discussion about shows and what we should do...but i think to get people more interested...we need to add things to the show other than just SPL ..like i mean ppl don't put car audio in..just to hear bass...and when people come to shows...they don't want to stand at one point all day looking at SPL scores..i think we need like more stuff..make it more than just SPL..make it a place where ppl can show off their cars..like their customizing and stuff like that..i know its not easy or cheap..but i think we gotta come together..cuz it seems like the car audio scene..is just going down the drain...if anyone is planning shows in the east...i'm more than willing to help..and anyone who's got creative ideas that they think might help and ppl who are interested in really getting this scene up and running again..i'm here..maybe we can get a really nice show going to start things off...bashing everyone's ideas is no good unless you good sumting of your on...any ideas..?

car audio scene around here been goin down the drain for years. thats why hardcore competitors drive to the states to compete.
there are shows where people show off their stuff, called SQ and Show N Shine......but then again, people who are interested in that are not interested in spl and those are into spl dont really care about sq and looks. trust me on this one, when u go to a show that has spl along with sq and car show u can even tell which crowd is which. biggest problem around here when it comes to brining new people in is that new guys come to the first few shows, get smoked and never come back........yah i know your immediate response to this is to make more fair classes, right?? NO screw that. Everyone is a damn cry baby and everyone wants to win without trying. You want to win, you try harder!! Next time someone starts crying that "this is not fair" and "that is not fair" im just gonna tell them not to bother commin to a show myself. People need to man up or go home. |

i totally agree with that.. if you are passionate enough...then you don't just give up..u jus keep at it....but what i'm getting at is that we gotta make it more like a place to jus chill and party..rather than just car audio..integration of the show n shine ..sq and spl...might be a nice idea..you might be able to see the difference in crowd but there are gonna b some people..from either side that will just peek over to check out something new..no one is gonna stay over at SQ or SPL all day..they're gonna walk around...and all we're looking for is a way to get more ppl to attend the events....for competitors...the passionate will keep coming...but you'll always have little cry babies who run home to their mommy n don't come back...theres nothing we can do about that...honestly i would love to see all the guys come together and have one big show in the east....if we all come together...try to get some sponsors...hold some fund raising event/s....and advertise on radio and newspapers..i think we can most definitely do it...

i think that things are fair. well i am a Iasca guy and i like the way that they do it with the size and number of subs a person has and you can use what ever amps you want i just started comping last season and love it .. some shows i do ok some i get smoked but it is all about knowing your car and what it can do like i have 4 kicker L5 12" and one visonik V900XD so i am not looking to do 180DB i am looking for 150ish this year and when money permits YULI if you still have the 900xd then it is mine i got mine from "DJCAKE" and he sold u the other
and i dont have a huge amount of dough in my install so i am not looking to make something out of notting. i think ppl just need to get off the high horse that they're system is the cus there is always gonna be some one with more money and experience that will smoke u car audio is all about FUN like last year at a comp my amp burned up and it was in my first run so i was SOL for the show but then like 3 guys took there amps out of there cars and wanted to let me use them for my runs and i got third place in my class so i was having a shitty day then cus of the kindness of other comps my day was the best. to sum it all up car audio is about fun not how much dough you have invested so if you dont want to have fun then stay home. |
splone, we do have shows like that around here. the problem is that people still dont attend.

ill drive up for any shows, so long as its IASCA bc my car isnt legal for db drag. we always have a good time up there for shows

is it like advertising..like i was here last yr..not on the forum though..and i never heard anything about shows other than the dark knghts show up in Markham...

where would u normally hear about a local spl event?

well honestly..last year..i wasnt at any shops or anything like that..i would usually check out some websites..torontolime.com...and i read newspapers alot...n well listen to the radio of course...and the thing is..some people visit shops..but then they're those who are enthusiasts but prefer to just get a prefab box from somewhere like futureshop or bestbuy...and just get it installed there..i know a few people like that..so like i said i think we gotta get it out so that the regular person knows about the show..like advertising in the metro(which is popular in TO)..or websites that people go to alot..stuff like that...
