We all know that we need more SPL shows around here. I've seen many, many requests for Db Drag shows to start occuring more often but there has berelly been any progress. Althought i have to admit that this past season has been the best one so far, we had some local 1x Db Drag shows as well as a couple of 2x's.

Nevertheless, I and couple others have taken upon ourselves the mission of expanding popularity and exposure of the SPL sphere of car audio by means of providing more local shows for local 'kids' as well as high profile competitors.

We are steering towards Db Drag as of this moment. However that could change. I personally prefer standart Db Drag shows which would provide an opportunity for an average person to have fun and for all Db Drag competitors to earn points.

So far I've only considered shows in the GTA due to the lack of contacts outside. If anyone is willing to help out feel free.

Any and all support, ideas and comments are welcome.

I can be contacted at @hotmail.com and @canadaspl.com You can always catch me on MSN.

We are trying to actually make this thing happen!

yuli you should talk to some of teh regular shops that are around because i know that tehre will be shops interested in having more shows this year, some shops wanted to have more shows last year but there didn't seem to be much interest untill late in the year, i know if you talk to the guys from perect tones they will have shows, frank won't have a problem as well as chase and jay won't have a problem holding shows as long as there is an interest in it, who knows we could end up having like 2-3x weekends, it would just take some organizing and were ordering a new mike tommorrow morining and we have 4-5 more vehicals coming out that the owners are looking forward to being competing every weekend just like we did when we all started

I was hoping to do the same next year and hopefully have a dbdrag every other week (or so often).. but the problem is the place where we were having a competitions before isn't being too friendly now.. so until we can find a new place I'm not going to spend the money on the retail membership.. but if/when we do.. it'll be fun

well to make a long story short as possible

we talked to the guy that owned the shop where we were having out competitions at.. he thought it was a great idea.. but when we set the first date he gave us a weeks notice which wasnt enough time in my opinion to advertise the way we wanted.. so he told us to do it in front of his install bay.. but after he bitched because he couldn't do any installs that day (which we told him he should).. so the next competition he gave us i think a weeks notice again when he was free (he went away most weekends and closed up the shop) which again wasn't enough time to advertise the way we wanted.. then after the competition he started whining that he "didn't really get anything out of it" although we did massive advertising for him, someone bought an amp the day of our competition because of it. Besides letting us use his parking lot he wouldn't really help us at all (he wouldn't give people change, etc), and he wouldn't beleive us when we told him we made enough to cover the trophies and gas (thats all we made).

So pretty much that was it, we've talked to a few other shops, most either don't think its a good idea or want something out of it as well.. so until we can find a place we are sort of out of luck. If anyone can think of a place or could maybe hook us up let me know.

I have talked to everyone around my unit and none of them mind us using the space on Sundays.o if you want to have shows there it would be fine.

I have also been thinking about the up coming season and thouhgt that all the shops should get together and make a dB Drag circut(sp?) where we all pick dates a few monthes in advance so that we could do what Future shop does and advertize in a mag or just make flyers so that newbies will know that there are comps coming up.
