Dukk 04-03-2011 12:44 PM

Nope. I have a PW Silverado sitting here doing nothing and I wouldn't waste the time.

i just cut this from caraidiomag
"Isabella Logan, a precocious three-year-old, likes riding around in her yellow 2003 mini John Deere worksite Gator. But it's no ordinary truck, and Isabella's no ordinary toddler. Judging from her ride, she's a genius!

The engine may be a dual 12-volt motor, but what sets her vehicle apart is the powered-up audio. With a bumper sticker that reads, "Silly boys: Bass is for Girls" you know you've got a fun-loving girl behind the wheel.

Logan's audio system has a total wattage of 2,800 watts, so you can hear her coming from the next zip code. With the help of father Rick, she put the source unit - a Pioneer DEH-1700 - in a custom podium. The goal for the subwoofer was a 12" Audiobahn Immortal, which sits in the bed for ease of sensor placement. The MDF enclosures are 1/2ft3. Powering the subwoofer, an Audiobahn A2X600HQ, is mounted under the subwoofer box.

When asked why she built this vehicle, Logan replied with just a little help from her dad, "I wanted to compete at a national level in MINI SPL. Oh yeah." Dad just supervised. Logan and her father sound like a real pro team. "I let Dad drill the holes," she reveals. "But I put the screws in for him to build the box." She also reported that it was very hard to find a location for the battery. They finally found the perfect spot for the Stinger under the dash. The Stinger battery was upgraded with an external charger. For the power and ground, they used 4-gauge, with 10-gauge as the speaker cable. This pro team also chose to modify the truck with blue neon on the underside. The entire installation was done in the Logans' garage, taking only a week to complete. The total cost only came to $450 - $300 for the truck and $150 for materials.

If you think this sounds like kids' stuff - think again. This kid's got commitment. Since the age of 2, she's had a license to drive. It was then when she had her first taste of car audio attending her first competition in Fresno, CA, where she did a 166.4dB on the Term Lab sensor. In 2005, she was the USACi SQ points champion. That led to her feature on the TV show "Good Day Sacramento," and the front page of the Metro Section of the Sacramento Bee.

As a member of USACi, Logan competes in MINI SPL class. She's affiliated with Team BIO (www.team-bio.com), which stands for Bring It On!

And young Logan sure brings it on. Rick says that for sound, there was no other choice but Audiobahn. "We went with the equipment that we did because the 12" is Audiobahn's top of the line, and at the time the amp was one of the most powerful that they offered .... In the future," he reveals, "I would like to try a different wattage amplifier."

And this girl's future is big. She competed in the USACi World Finals - squeezing it in with pre-school."

i'm trying to get my kids into it

i have jeeps if someone needs one

I'll fix that for you...

Dukk 04-05-2011 04:03 PM

^ And that right there is the problem with 99% of these 'minispl' rigs - they aren't functional at all anymore.

I did a Barbie Lambo once. 4s in the door area, tweets on the dash, an 8 under the seat where the battery originally went. Got distracted and never finished it but there was no loss of passenger space.

DeadlySones 04-05-2011 04:12 PM

I gotta agree with Dukk... at least Tonys has full function of the seats. :smilie_da
