people that are complaining of the mics being high @ summer thunder will be quite surprised that the scores will be comparable (maybe +.5-1 db)to the visions show in calgary on the 10th(recently calibrated@ red deer)come and see,show your support for visions putting on these shows,and please come to the show in spruce grove(aug 9th)to show Ray & all the crew at F/X audio your apreciation , without guys like them, our hopes of being invited to worlds would not be possible....please remember, people do not have to hold these events and have family/etc. that they could spend their precious time with , so lets show them that we care...lets do it!!!!

I agree...
We don't show enough apprecation to the good people who put on these shows...and I mean the people..not the companies.Alot of the people who do all the foot work to put on thses shows do it on their own time and efforts and sometimes fork out some $$ of their own.
As far as the mic...who cares if the mic is high or low?Yes there have been times that I have questioned the accuracy of a mic,but not to the degree where I raise a huge stink...the way I look at it,if the mic is high or low,we are all running on it.I think about the only time I would have concern if a mic is high/low is in side by side comp.At this point,I would want to be sure the mic's are matched.But beyond that...Just let me run..if I don't hit as high,sure maybe I will be a little dismayed,but in the end,I know the guy who might/has beat me has done it on the same mic.
I look at it like this...its like running up a hill..you run up one in 5 secs.The next hill you do it in 4 secs.The third hill you run up in 6 secs.What are you going to do?Complain that the hills are to steep or not steep enough?It doesn't really matter as long your fellow competitor is running on the same hill.If he beats you..oh well...he's a faster runner!
Anyway,enough of my ranting...
I will be at the Visions show on Aug.10 for sure.It will likey be the first and only DB drag event I will make this year.Should be interesting.
Oh yeah...and a huge thanks to Rick from Auto Temp for putting on such a great show...I can't wait til next year...Let me know when..I will be there to help out again(schedule allowing...hehe).

i agree 110%
i came out of retirement this year to compete
after holding my first event last year through autotemp i called it summer thunder
last years event took me about 2 months to organize and promote this year was about the same
however with the support of lbkc and t8t working till 5am to set it up they made it all poss
alot of compettitors showed there true love for the sport by offering there help.
these two competitors showed there true colors not only at my show but at others i have attended this year.
not only did they attend for set up they also stayed for tear down.
1 thing i have to say my wife would have divorced my a@# if i didnt come home for a third night in a row.
hats off to you guys and everyone who is trying to bring this sport back to life.
for anyone who cant understand what i am trying to portray try explainig to your kids why you cant play with them and i have 2.
thats my opinion.

who is looking at sanctioning next year

You know, I have to agree with the LBKC. In the 4 years I have competed, I have been to tons of shows where the hosts get little or no recognition. Lets all get out to some comps, and show our appreaciation to all those who have made it possible. Thanx for everything LBKC, Db,T8T.

Here in Alberta, we have maybe 3 shows left this season...
Aug.9-FX Audio-Spruce Grove

The Car Salon show is an IASCA World Final Qualifier....
These two shows themseleves we should be making every effort possible not only to make it to them,but to promote them as much a possible.

I was told while in Winnipeg that DB drag was pretty well dead there...lets not only not let it happen elsewhere,but lets bring it back where its starting to die!!

f/x's show on the 9th won't be a double point event.. visions on the 10th might!! i will find out some time this week or early next week. or if ray responds!

Alot of them have contests and comps for people to take part in that don't have even a car...
I forgot about this Sunday's show at A&B Sound in Shawnessy.....

They will have pizza eating contests,Slurpee chigging contest,a deck tossing contest and soooo much more...

And when all is said and done,lets give the organizers a hand...both applaud and in helping tear things down....
Hope to see a good turn out for this one....
