New db drag rules and Classes

What is your oppions on the new classes and the new 60hz cap on dbdrag.

I honestly think it will add more comp, as well as make some classes just plain unaffordable. I agree with the 60hz cap but do not agree with the trunk / hatch class.

I like most of the changes, but not all. I like the fact that street cars can run engines now. don't like the changes to street a after I bought a car and a bunch of gear to compete using the old rules.....what really stinks is I sold all me street b stuff to buy street a stuff....I think the 60 hz cap is realistic, 95% of the vehicles it pertains to in north america are 60 hz or less anyways. It does suck for the europeans though.

A lot of the judges from north america wanted the cap to be 65, but in europe there sick of so many panda's. Crx's are still playing under 60 without a problem. Street class just became unaffordable in my oppion. Now you need tones of wire, at least 2 amps, good subs and a crx even to have a fighting chance. Its more about the cars then the equipment inside them.

I hear ya. I bought a crx to run street a this year, 2 new dd 10" subs, a ton of wire, and a giant amp. now because of the changes, in order to be competitive, I hhave to get another 10, and another massive amp....with a retail price of 4 g's, I can't afford another amp. or another sub for that matter....so I will be under-equipt for yet another year... it's nice to beable to use a bigger battery though...

Its tough....I agree.. Just for something new i decided to play with 2 12"s last year in the n/w class in a mini-van. I was able to ground pound at 145db @ 25hz. For the next little bit i was burping at 30hz. Anyone can hit a huge number but can they bassrace? Most crx's i know that hit huge have a hard time bass raceing at 39.9.. I have a CRX in the driveway but there is all ready too many of them at the shows... Myself, i don't care if i place first and don't really care to do the drama thing. I'm just an old basshead.

I too have a groundpounder Im working on..1989 hardbody with a full blow-thru. managaed to pull a 147 out of it on music with a peak of 31hz. I agree, its much more ful to rollaround in that, but at the same time, I like having burp monsters that are loud. I guess I just like all aspects of spl.

back on topic, I do appreciate the changes in db drag, but I'm really liking the efforts that IASCA has been putting forward recently. Moe has been trying to give the compitition scene a huge kickstart in the past year or so, and I think his efforts won't go unnoticed.

Loud Brown Kicker Colt 01-26-2012 03:00 PM
