And, the hood thing, take YOUR hood off, drive around and you'll get a ticket. It is illegal to drive a vehicle with the hood removed or off.

the hood keeps things like belts exploding inside your engine bay.

Just an observation.... good luck at the show.

HAHAHA, im just playin man, it was intended to be a joke post...lol...my bad u took it wrong...

and to you saying for ME to take my hood off and drive around, did it and still do, my 87 dosnt have a hood on it, and will not have a hood on it. it is not illigal as long as theres a shroud over the fan. you need a hood to pass a safety but do not need one to drive on the street, ive done my research many times, i even followed and have been followed as well as drivin beside cops with nothing other then looks and smiles, and the occasional head shake...lol

sorry to hear that Nick..
hope you're able to get the situation taken care of with the alt company like we talked about

Mat-Romain 04-25-2008 06:58 AM

im sure you have, but incase you havnt, make sure all the wires plugging into the alternator work properly, like the turn on and all. i had that problem on my old firebird went thru 2 alternators, none worked and i was like, ok, something isnt right... one wire was dead, had to chase it around and re-wire it.

Nick..you got a caravan right? well check that the plug is all the way inserted(like the soup sandwich guys said above)... those have external regulators that go through the computer... same as the neons(as far as I remember)
