I think I'm gonna do 19.9 and bring back that class next season. but theres one issue I'm seeing about linking shows online. judging. A) with all the dramam this past season it seems inevitable to run into some judging squabbles (maybe more so with db drag than bass race, but still a possibility) B) in the event of a tie breaker, theres no way to proove that one judge is not in cahoots with someone and when the cars have to be shut off, one might still be going. C) lack of the number of multipoint judges, just cuz I don't think its fair that someone doesn't have to travel to a 3x show but gets the points only because there is a termlab close by.

but if all those can be worked out I don't see why linking shows wouldn't work. I've watched shows online on like Ustream and what not, so I'm sure its possible, even with like skype or something. honestly though what I'd like to see are just more people. bassrace is a lot easier for daily guys than db drag, and rookies stand more of a chance, unless they're one of the guys who gets put into a random class that has nobody in it and by default wins 1st. that is pretty annoying when you're a guy who goes to a bunch of shows only to go to regionals and watch a bunch of new faces take home first place.

and thats nothing against Derek and TDS, I'm glad I didn't lose to a noob, it just got me cheesed, like last year, to see some guys come to their first show and walk away with "champion" titles

On the subject of ties... maybe if after only one tie, instead of two, the vehicles were shut off.
Then the system and its builders' abilities or lack thereof, would possibly come into the mix more often.
Then the more experienced racer/builder could possibly have an advantage over the noobs ?

fresh .. Since my bro and I were the only so called "noobs" that won in Barrie. FYI, We've been putting stereos in vehicles for over 20yrs bro.(maybe not so well, but)
Hardly noobs at turning the volume up
BUT... after looking on termpro.. we lucked out, we know it.
We should be just handing it over to Nick!!! Did you see the 29.9 points accumulation!!!!!

Back on subject... There has to be a couple ppl that can make a computer , whatever link work.
Like Yuli mentioned, it could be pioneering.. (re: money..lol). thumbsup:

I just might have the perfect guy to set up multiple location shows. My Brother in law is a networking genious and would have no trouble making this work flawlessly if it can be done. I will be talking to him tonight and get him to do some research into equipment needed, costs involved etc. Even though I lost to Soulmusic in Barrie I am still claiming 129.9 Canadian bassrace points champion. Also 14th in N.America and 25th in the world this year. LOL

things needed to make this happen:

very high speed internet connection on both ends

some sort of a video capturing device

desktops/laptops capable of running termlab software and streaming data/video without crashing

atleast 1 extra monitor per location

and the most expensive - you'd need the termlab event promoted package that allows the integration of everything.

no it will not work why....
u can use an ipad or iphone and tether of the unit .. biggest prob. its only 6gbs of data per month. You will need a laptop or desktop to run the web cam session maybe even termlab as well.

Reason you ask.. cache level is too low on a netbook. You will need a Dual core system with the ram to back it all up.

Now i could be incorrect about a few things so dont hold me to that.

What's so hard about that? I mean, maybe years ago it was hard to imagine but now, we could update the whole show on an iPhone. Seriously.
You could probably use that as a webcam ... which would require someone in the West to own an iPhone. I think it's literally THAT simple.

iPhone 4 users video chat for free anywhere in the world.
no they dont... u need be over a wifi conection for facetime. If u jailbreak the iphone, big risk of going over your data cap.

For me? ... finish earlier. That's all I care about. I know I, and a few other spl guys, hate sitting around for an extra 2hrs at a show while Bass Race finishes up because you guys wanted to each have 37 different qualifying run because your 139.8 wasn't good enough...

Do it sooner and end earlier... I almost lost it at the Hamilton show when you guys kept doing RUN after RUN... the show was already done and the results were set but the BR guys just kept lining up to play.

I know it sounds like a bitch thing to say but Ih ad gotten MAYBE 2hrs of sleep the night before on the commute then had a 6+ hr drive home that night. Watching guys BR for ***** & giggles after the results were already done was just insane.

(Don't get me wrong, I love watching BR and the scores/competition they have... )

bassrace is hardly just turning up the volume. DaVibe was right when he said that americans would smash us in bassrace. they hold perfect scores for what seems like forever, whereas a lot of canadians tend to try and land on a perfect score. and I'm not classifying you as a noob based on how long you've been installing stereos. but based on points, which means coming out to shows and getting the wins you need, yes, I'd say you are. don't take offense to it, a lot of guys get their championship trophies that way, and not just in bassrace but db drag as well. if you build for a random class with no other competitors and show up at regionals you win the championship for that class, which is something I find to be a little ridiculous, and this is the second year it has happened. I would hope that at the very least next season there are some sort of requirements to qualify for regionals, the same way there are requirements for world finals. there is no way you could have done that at worlds if that was the only show you showed up for. like I said don't take offense to it, you're from meaford so I automatically think you're cool peeps, but as a competitor these are the kind of things that get on my nerves.
