alarm suggestions?

after some thought i`m looking at getting an alarm. i`ve never had one in the past but now with all the theft around i think its a wise investment.

i checked out a place on the queensway, but the guy there was a bit of a shyster and he didn`t have anything that caught my eye. he suggested the ones with the pager remotes but i`m not sure which route to go.

any suggestions?

Pager for sure. What would you pay to catch a guy in your vehicle?

I recommend Compustar, the 2wama or 2wfma if you need a super long range.

I am also lookin into an alarm system. Will the pager that you suggested be able to page through cement???? The walls on the building that I work in look like they were built to withstand a hurricane. I am afraid that if I invest in a pager that it won't even work. I would agree with mayhem that an alarm system would definetly be one of the best investments that I could do to my vehicle so instead of just thinking about it I need to start lookin into good alarms.

Angry alarm shopping .....

today i went to around different places. the prices vary as well as the range of the pager remotes.

i looked at about 6 different brands (can`t remember all the model numbers), but the 1 i`m seriously looking at is the viper 5000. now the perplexing part is the range of the remote. from the 2 different shops that carried this unit said that the range is 3-8000ft. wtf?

than i took a drive to kromer downtown and i looked at an autostart (i think) with a range of 200ft. the sales dude said that the range of the pagers are grossly exaggerated, and that most units cannot transmit through brick or steel buildings, therefore the TRUE range is about 200ft. wtf?

he wanted 450 bucks which i felt is pricey but he assured me that kromer solders all the connections as compared to the others that just crimp.

sorry kromer....no cando...

Mine is 6000 ft and test and worked BUT!!! Walls or curves arent into that puzzle if you go into a mall Pfff you wont get 8000 or whatever ft your spec sheet says

you only get it if your dead on straight for that kinda range.. otherwise you still get good Range on FM Tranmitters Alarms stay away from AM

Alarm

Thers Alot Of Good Units Out There, With A Budget Of Above $299 Can You Wil Most Certainly Get A Realible And Awesome Paging Alarm System, Now The Big Part And Most Important Whoever Installs It Will Be The Factor On Proper Opperation, Reliablity, Effectivness. I Would Ask To See Pictures Of Any Shops Alarm Installs , If They Don't Have Any Or Cant Show You A Nice Neat Really Tidy Install Then Walk , Last Thing You Want Is An Alarm You Can'T Trust And A Vehicle That Has Issues!
