Auto Start CT-5000. parking lights wont stop flashing???

So I have this CT-5000 and I installed it today. went really well, found all the wires and such. so then I try and program the remote. The manual says to "flash the hood pin". So I hold it for 4 seconds, let go then press it again to enter the program mode and the parking lights are supposed to stay solid for 20 sec. well they keep flashing for 1 min. ON (1sec), off(sec.) ON(sec), off(sec) and so on for one minute. any Idea what I can do, or didnt do?

HELP!!!

It's going to programming playback mode. Press the hold pin down, release it then press it again quickly. If you press it too many times, it goes into playback mode.

Call me at 1-877-4-westec on Monday if you still need help...ask for James. I do the tech support for a simular product.

Damn thing. didnt get anywhere. triple checked all my wiring, then once that was done I checked it all again.

Yesterday when the unit first saw power the parking lights flashed twice(like it was supposed to) but I never got any siren chirp or nothing. Using the pin swithch on the side of the unit(with the hood up), as soon as I hold the button down for 4 sec the parking lights start flashing. tap the button again-still flashes. but after that, every time I press the button while the lights are flashing, the lights will change there rate/speed/pauses of the flashing. but through all this I get NO siren chirp AT ALL.

I know the siren works becuse I tested on the batt. I moved the ground for the unit thinking it could be that-still same thing. could it be in the module? maybe I should go grab another one and return this one? unno. Plz help if you guys got anyclues. would really like to get this thing working ASAP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dallas

I think there may be somthing wrong with the wiring diagram given. Do I need to connect the second ignition wire? there is a second ignition wire in the truck but the manual said that it was optional to hook up and the guy a BB said that wire HAS to be hooked up. so, does it?

alright, more info.

I disconnected the module completly, let it sit for the longest time then went back at it. as soon as I connect JUST the main 6pin harness(the one with the 2 power wires, starter, igniton, acc, and 5th relay ouput, one pin empty) the module will start clicking(like its turning the lights on and off) for one min. WTF???

the only wire out of the main harness that is not hooked up is the green, 5th relay output. which the manual says can be used to power a second starter wire in conjuction with a relay. my truck does have a second starter wire. should this be hooked up? is so, any one got a diagram? it says not to jump the wires.

IMO I think the damn module is screwed.

HELP!!!

IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS A SECOND IGN OR ACC THEY MUST BE HOOKED UP.ALSO CHECK YOUR SIREN WIRING THEY GENERALLY IN PROSTARTS ARE NOT A DIRECT HOOKUP(ONE SIDE IF THE SIREN NEEDS 12V CONSTANT POWER) BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR ALARM IS BEING TRIGERED, THE SIREN IS NOT WORKING SO THEREFORE ALL YOU GET IS THE PARKLIGHTS FLASHING FOR 60 SEC. gOOD LUCK

For The Second Starter Wire Just Hook The Green Wire Directly To It, Just Make Sure You Change The Jumper Settings On The Brain I Believe Page 16 In Your Install Manual Will Give You A Diagram Only They Call It A Second Crank Jumper

once it warms up im gona go hook that green wire up. I will also have to check the ground on the alarm because when the lights are flashing that thing should be goin off. I emailed the prostart ppl and they said I have to put it in valet mode, then once the lights stop flashing I have 30 sec to flash the hood pin then I can enter the program mode. THANKS FOR PUTTING THAT IN THE MANUAL!!!! JEZZZ! to darn cold and I put a nail through my tire so cant drive her too much Oh well, just means I need some Big mud tires!!!

Thanks for the help guys. will post back once I hook it up and try the valet mode.
