car alarms

Do car alarms draw enough power to drain a battery in 7 weeks?
My car was parked for that long and the battery was dead when I wen't to start the car. Maybe the alarm was set off while I was away, don't know. There were no interior lights left on.

How old is your battery? If it is an old battery, it may not hold that much of a charge. Make sure the battery is clean too, they can discharge a lot of energy if they are dirty.

a quick fix to my problem is to disconnect the battery if I'm going to leave the car parked for an extended period, then reconnect it once I get back, the battery should not loose its charge that way
I'm not sure how to figure out what was draining it.
