Car starter

I found a car starter in one of my tool chest (was for my sisters car but she never got it installed), so now since I have my car and I found it I was thinking of installing it to mine. My question is do all starters work for all cars? and how much does it roughly cost to get it installed.

thank you

Not all starters will work with all cars. This primarily relates to whether your car is automatic or standard. Most older units will only work with automatic transmissions. Along the same lines most older units will not be compatible with cars using a diesel engine.

Cost can be quoted with in 10 minutes by any service shop in your area.

I'm an installer at Futureshop and typically a basic remote install is $100. There are a lot of extras that can be tacked on depending on the salesperson, but that's the basic going rate, it's usually better to just get a new one for $150 installed.
