Compustar Alarm Issue

Hi. I have a Compustar alarm installed in my 98 Nissan Pathfinder. I bought the truck used with the alarm already installed. I have had it for 3 months or so and never had any issues. In the last couple of weeks the alarm has been acting weird. When use the fob, the doors unlock and the alarm disarms, but if I don't start my truck within a minute or so, the doors will lock and the alarm will arm itself. I know there is a passive mode in which the alarm will engage after 30 seconds of unlocking, but when I tried the button combination to turn that off, nothing happened. If I start the truck then turn it off again, the alarm won't engage on it's own. But as soon as I lock, then unlock, the issue comes back. I have tried disconnecting the battery to restart the computer, but that didn't do anything. I also replaced the battery in the fob and that did nothing either. Any insight? I am really new to aftermarket alarms.

Thanks.

On the back of the remote there are icons that tell you how to take the alarm out of passive mode. Now that you have taken power away at the battery there is a good chance you have to reprogram the remotes, check the voltage in your remote battery's as well they could need replacing.

I know the icons on the remote tell me how to get the alarm out of passive mode. As I said, I tried that already. Nothing happened. I also said I replace the batteries in the remote. That also did nothing. You don't have to reprogram the remote if you disconnect/ reconnect the battery. Nothing is different since I pulled the battery terminals and put them back.

As I said before, the alarm came with the truck. Seriously! Do you people not read the entire post before responding??? And with a response like "You get what you pay for"??? Is that your way of saying you don't have the slightest knowledge of car alarms to share and you just felt like commenting even though you had nothing productive or insightful to say? At least the last guy made some suggestions (redundant as they were). What a joke. I had more luck with Compustar's tech support.

You probably should of have phoned tech support to begin with. Do yourself a favor, keep your comments to yourself. Remember this is a free forum. I said check the voltage in the batteries if the batteries have different voltage that could be the reason as to why the buttons don't respond when pressing the two together to get out of passive mode. Another thing if you take power away from the brain all the settings go back to factory, by reprogramming the remote this may rectify why the buttons don't respond.

Like I said, buy a better alarm.
