Compustar Auto Start Shuts OFF after 2min?
My auto start seems to shut off after 2 min each time. Remote says it will run for 15 but counts down to 13 and then off? I have tried to change the tach/alternator setting with the remote but it says "FAIL" when I do step one (buttons I+II for 2.5 s)
Any Help? Cheers |
Sounds like it could possiblely be in "turbo" mode.
But having a little more information would help. Remote start model, car, etc. might help out. |
Did you install it yourself? If not, take it back to who ever did and have them reprogram the computer. Or as stated above, could be in turbo mode.

By the way, just to be clear I am only tapping III+IV as it says, not holding for 2.5s yet it still seems to think I want 2nd mode. Does the e-brake possibly have to be on or some other little trick? I will try a few variations today and see if anything happens then post back. Cheers again |
she's good to go now! not to sure exactly what the issue was but the key was taking off the "turbo", thanks.
One thing i did find is that it had to be armed and me out of the truck, not sure if that was the clincher, but thats when it finally worked. |
well it was working, now its back to the same shutoff after 2 min. Nothing is set on it at all, so I am lost now.
Any Ideas? |
Vehicle make & model? Compustar model? We need to know what we're working with here.... And again, as mentioned above, was this a self install?

Oh man, I hate Blade inserts. More of a pain in the @$$ then anything. I've seen such a high incompatibility rate and failure rate with those than anything else. I wouldn't put it past it that it's actually the Blade malfunctioning. If your glow plug time was too short, the truck wouldn't start, and if it did start, it doesn't need glow plugs to run, so it makes no sense that it would quit as a result. If the truck had service on it or if the battery was disconnected, I wouldn't be surprised if the Blade lost it's programming. I've seen some pretty unpredictable things happen with Blade inserts. On the plus side though, they are dirt simple to use, and when they work, they are the cat's behind. On a seperate note, is there a chance you have the wrong tach wire?

I was thinking of changing the setting to "off" and back to "tach" or even "alternator" using Program option menu 2 and see if that works, however the remote will not let me do it, it says "fail" after i hit buttons (1+2). Visions Electronics said they would take a look and reset the blade, I will let you know if that solves the problem, however I have no idea when I will get the time for that. I wish there was a way to do it without the damn OP500 unit? |
