Compustar reservation mode option set

I had the P2W9000FMR-AS installed recently. (08 subaru wrx MT)

The factory default option for reservation mode is "Lock doors when reservation mode is set".

This locks the doors almost instantly as you get out and shut the door.
I would like the doors to stay unlocked until I choose to lock them, which appears to be option 2.
(This is on page 12 of the manual, http://www.compustar.com/csupport/pro_user_manuals/P2WSSR_P2W9000R_manual_us_cn_V1.3.pdf )

Is there a way for ME to set this option? I don't see anything in the manual. It says that it is "recommended that reservation mode settings are programmed by your local authorized compustar dealer".

Its just a setting. Can I do it myself?

Cars a manual as soon as you open the door, you lose remote start anyways (opening the trunk also kills remote start)

Go to the dealer that installed it and they can program it for you not to lock.

This is true. There's no point in even setting reservation mode if you plan to open the doors after you close them anyway since that will cancel it.

Then why would they make the different options INSIDE the reservation mode?

Is just a little bit retarded in my eyes.....

So if I want to open more doors (and get the groceries out), I have to leave the driver door open, open rear door or hatch, close driver door, leave the car running for the however many minutes it takes to unload the car, until I finally shut the door?

you got it.

Heheheh... that's somewhat how I do it.

If the dome light wire is used for the door trigger, you can have the doors lock 10 seconds after the last door is closed.

It's in Menu 1 Option 6 setting 3

ahhh, the truth comes out. I kinda thought that having an option like this would be dumb if you can't use it.
This option matches the one in the book that came with it.
However..... Can I set this option myself (some key combo on the FOB?) or do I have to take it back to the installer (quite a few miles away from me)?

take the drive.. it can in theory be done with a remote and button pushing. But i've never seen anyone successfully do it without messing up other settings. It's a wildly tricky stand-on-one-foot-go-cross-eyed-while pushing 4 buttons and doing the hula dance kinda thing.
