All hail the OP500.

I've tried to do it via remote before too, but I always get confused as to when you enter the option menu whether if you're automatically started on the first option, or if the first chirp means you're on the first option... and so forth.

Why not just plan ahead remove all of your stuff then take the keys out. If you need back in after you've closed the doors simply remote start get your stuff put keys in to igition and hit the brake. That will put it back in reserve, I know it sounds like a lot but it's not really.( I have one too!) And the OP500 is a god send.
