Installing car starter in VW

Just curious if it is possible to install a car starter/alarm in a 2006 VW? I hear that they are very difficult if not impossible to install. I got turned down by 2 shops and am curious if I can do it myself.

Some of the new VW's are tricky.
Part of the reason that shops turn away these cars is money.
As they usually loose money as the cars take longer to do.

I'll suggest getting a valet key made and make sure its not a blade key.
It'll make it easier.

If this is your first starter, expect to spent at least 6 hours in there doing it.
Me being a seasoned installer would probably take about 3 hours.

It's very possible. Difficulty depends on which model VW you have. To do it as a DIY I'd highly reccomend against it unless you are familiar with working on newer VW's.

I personally have done tons of v-dubs and they are no problem to do... selective gave you great advice about the key... get the key made before even making an appointment to get a starter installed
