I read threads, and I go a step further, I understand them. get it through your head that despite having crazy ideas or suggesting them, I also include the consequences. And yes it's from 100 times more experience with both Security systems and the RCMP, which you obviously don't have, nor a sense of humour as you profess. I "paint a picture of high strung, violent, even deadly individuals" as you put it. That without a doubt assures me that you've never had contact with a thief like I did. I don't need to paint it, the RCMP and life have it in bright neon!
As I stated earlier for an idea which "costs money" as you put it. I bet it would cost less than both the flame thrower and baseball bat together.
While you have the right idea of reminding your reader to remember what the thief looks like etc.., you seem to knock a similar suggestion of taking a picture of the thief. So which side of the fence are you on?

Crazy ideas are crazy ideas, simple as that. You brought realism into it... No doubt due to your history with the RCMP. I have a sense of humour, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned the obviously insane flame thrower vehicle. I've had 3 attempts from 4 individuals to steal the gear that was in two different vehicles over time. I have my experience as well, and none of my gear has actually been stolen. You've got the expert opinion around here it seems, so tell us how many people's gear was returned, let alone unharmed? A percentage, any statistic? How many perps have you caught and prosecuted?? Prosecutions based on the content of this thread. Now you try and make this thread sound realistic again by mentioning the cost of a flame thrower system vs your camera idea. I actually don't know who cares.... Why? Read the first post in the thread. Then read it again and again until you get it through your head what this thread is about. It isn't about vigilants looking for new ideas, so save the RCMP derived "advise" and start offering some crazy ideas instead. We don't need a lesson on consequences, so thank-you in advance for leaving them out. Maybe pull from your obviously more extensive knowledge (since I clearly have no experience at all) and tell us some stories that'll get a laugh, or that at least has some "wow" factor involved. This thread is for entertainment, not lessons. That's the side I'm on

Best Secruity system I know is insurance. Got a good stereo system you paid over 5000 grand for? Spend the extra $50 a month and get theft and all that. My friend got back $4000 for like a $300 system in his car. Well not really a friend but some guy I knew.

I actually really like the wired CD player and hide the wire somewhere. Thats a great idea and I might do that wil my new CD player. My car has a factory alarm and my car is about 20 feets away from my head while I sleep lol and that alarm WORKS! Even when you dont want it too. Lol.

Me and my friend thought of this idea when we were plowing out some drive ways.

We dont know all the mechanics to it yet.
But in his bosses 2006 chev it has seat warmers. Reall Really good seat warmers. Like they start burning more or less then warming. (Yes a stupid idea) but we thought maybe if you could put a kill switch on to them and hide the switch and then have it hooked to the pressure sensor of the seat (where is says you dont have a seat belt on) then when someone who doesnt know where the kill switch is sits down it cranks up to 100%. Sure he will get about 10 minutes away but sooner or later he will bail. IT didnt take long for them to get boiling hot.

I dunno thats the only idea we had that doesnt actually cause harm to someone....Well it does but in a more legal fashion. Like:
"Officer waking up at 4 am to plow drive ways I like my seat warmer to come on by itself. I didnt know it would cause 3rd degree burns." Or whatever.

I am thinking a pressure sensor in the seat, only turned on when activated by a glass break sensor or door sensor. The pressure sensor then activates a "airbag" in the seat that firmly plants idiot sticks face on the roof and keeps him there until I can come out and place him in cuffs, charter him and wait for my friends in the nice white cars with the flashing lights to arrive and take him to cells.

Now that I like.
Add bullet proof windows and auto-re-arm to lock him in there and you'll have time to call the press for a photo opportunity ;-)
lol

Trespass by night is such a great yet unfortunately infrequently used tool in law enforcement.

That would be hilarious to see. I'd have to call all the nieghbors to join me in standing there laughing at the fool. We have to be careful here folks, this could turn our crook into an internet (ok, Youtube) sensation! Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth! We get our man, our man gets stardom!! Some of the dumbest s*** makes millions... Look at the man that created the scented trees :sly: Ooooo... what about hot-wiring one of those massage seats for more power and wiring it into that same pressure switch idea.... Perp hops in thinkin he's jackin some premo gear, next thing he knows the seats pounding the hell out of his coin purse LOL

how about a 10 buck solution.... get a "I Support Red and White" sticker and a "Proud Gun Carrying Supporter of the NRA" and leave a couple of empty 45 caliber casings on the front seat.. oh and get future shop to put in your viper alarm and you should have zero problems..... ps. satire is my thing!

i personally am thinking of tazers... yes there illegal, but only if you get caught... just like everything else in this country lmao...

but yea take the tazer... theres 50,000 volts running through it but the amps is what hurts... now theres 2 prongs on a tazer and the power has to come from some where... at about $50ea you could potential protect your car completely if you did it right... if only the tazer would cover say... your car door, then you would need like 3 to cover the trunk and 2 drivers doors... so all in all if you had like 2000+ in your car it might be a wise investment as long as you dont get caught lmao

FUKKIN YES!!!! Who's gotta say what now??!?! Like I've been saying all along, getting to the vehicle when people are jacking your $#!t is key, hence why 2 ways are awesome. If this poor gent hadn't of been there, he would have lost the whole vehicle and not just the audio gear. Put that in your pipe and smoke it
