When the car is off and alarm (Viper 5000) unarmed a faint noise can be heard from this module. Upon a closer look, it is a very faint but constant '6-tone revenger' siren. It is faint, but loud enough to catch my attention when under the hood checking my oil.

Alarm works fine and so does the module when engaged. The sound goes away when the module is keyed off.

Any similar experiences and/or thoughts?

i would start by checking ground at the 5000.
